MOST PEOPLE WOULD be fairly freaked out if they came across an uninvited animal in their family home.
Everyone feels a bit violated if they discover the presence of a mouse, rat or even a little spider in their gaff. However, the panic levels surge way higher when the uninvited animal has wings. They’re so much harder to catch.
If you have an attic bedroom, you’re all too familiar with keeping your windows closed in constant fear of a bird entering. What do you do when this event occurs? How the hell do you get a bird out?
Tadhg Fleming faced this problem, but to make things even more dramatic the intruder wasn’t even a bird. It was a bat. Nobody is ever prepared for the day a bat enters their home. Bats can fly at 40mph, fyi. So things got pretty funny as his dad tried to catch it.
There’s so much going on in this video that it’s impossible to take it all in the first time you watch it.
Tadhg gave DailyEdge.ie some background on the video:
Panic ensued when the bat entered the kitchen from the back door. My father (with my football shorts and long woolly socks) tried to first catch the bat with a tea towel, then opted for a larger towel which the mother had just ironed.
As if the bat didn’t cause enough drama, now Tadhg’s mam has to iron again. Thanks a lot.
From then, my self and my mother hid behind the doors to let my father take on the bat 1v1.
The highlight of the video is probably his new puppy casually deciding to urinate on the floor in the background. The dog knew this was the window of opportunity to pee inside without being scalded because the entire family had pretty much lost their minds over the bat.
Have you ever seen someone prouder than Tadhg’s dad the moment he releases the bat into the back garden? Priceless.
